LESS IS MORE
From Betsy, Catherine and Emma:
Less is more.
It can be hard to remember this when given free reign to decorate a space -- but it makes the difference between having a space you can truly relax in and one that drives you crazy.
One of the most important spaces for anyone is the bedroom, and here the idea of “less is more” truly comes into play. But don’t fret, we’re here to talk you through it!
A crucial design element for any room is wall color. A neutral is ideal to keep a clear mind, and opens up the space to many more design choices.
A core concept of “less is more” design is contrasting the minimal with statement pieces. We prefer to make our statements with bedding, which is easy to update. We like the idea of using our marbled suede pillows as a statement, as they create nice contrast to a white bedding and neutral wall color.
In a smaller room, a mirror above the bed is an old trick to add the illusion of more space. Especially with accents, mixed metallics add a certain unique and sophisticated vibe: WAYWARD metallic leather pillows. Add character to your room with "less is more" statement pieces.
Add textures to your neutral palette, to keep it interesting without overwhelming. For example, a white textured rug can add a lot of character while still keeping it minimal. Another tip would be adding some greenery to your bedroom (fake or real!) -- it can literally add life to your space!
Stay away from bulky furniture pieces if you have a smaller room -- try to find compact pieces that don't eat up too precious space. Don’t get too caught up in the excitement of decorating -- remember that minimalist mantra of of "clear space / clear mind"!
